Deepening Your Connection to Spirit
Many people who work with Reiki, energy healing, meditation, or other spiritual practices notice something interesting over time. As the energy field opens and becomes more refined, intuitive perception often deepens. The boundaries between what we call energy healing and what we call mediumship begin to soften.
This is natural.
When we work with subtle energy, we are already listening beyond the surface of the physical world. As awareness expands, impressions from the unseen begin to appear more clearly. Sometimes they arrive as a feeling. Sometimes as a thought, an image, or a sudden knowing that does not seem to come from our own mind.
Recently, through mentoring several practitioners and reflecting on my own experiences, I noticed something that helped clarify this process.
When the practitioner feels relaxed, comfortable, and free from the need to prove anything, the nervous system settles. In that state, messages tend to come through more clearly. Familiarity and trust often help create that openness, allowing the connection to flow more naturally.
In one session, a father’s presence came through first with a light and teasing tone. The impression was of his familiar joking about his wife’s cooking. His daughter immediately recognized the personality behind the message. Along with the humor was a deeper feeling of reassurance: she had carried a great deal in that relationship, and she was free now to live more lightly. They were nearby, and she was not alone.
In another session, the presence of a brother appeared strongly beside his sister. What came through most clearly was the sensation of a firm hand squeeze. Later she shared that during his final hours she had held his hand tightly in exactly that way. The message was simple but powerful. The connection between them had not disappeared.
Experiences like these remind us that spirit rarely communicates through dramatic statements. More often it arrives through personality, memory, humor, and physical sensation.
The key is listening.
One of the most important shifts for anyone developing intuitive perception is letting go of the need to prove something. When we try to force a message or analyze it too quickly, the mind becomes loud and the signal fades.
Spirit communication is usually quieter than we expect.
The truth is that all of us receive impressions from energetic and spiritual dimensions every day. These messages do not always appear as clearly as someone speaking in front of us. More often they arrive as feelings, subtle thoughts, images, or quiet inner nudges.
Learning to connect with spirit is less about acquiring a new ability and more about strengthening our attention.
Whether you are an experienced energy practitioner or someone who has recently lost a loved one and wishes to feel their presence again, there are simple ways to deepen your listening.
Three Ways to Deepen Your Connection to Spirit
1. Create moments of quiet listening.
Spirit communication becomes clearer when we slow down. Meditation, stillness, or even a few quiet minutes of awareness allow subtle impressions to surface.
2. Write down what you notice.
Journaling is one of the most powerful tools for developing intuition. Recording impressions, dreams, and feelings helps you recognize patterns and validate what you are receiving over time.
3. Share the practice with others.
Finding a circle or community where intuitive awareness is welcomed can strengthen confidence and deepen the connection. Listening together often opens doors that are harder to access alone.
At Mandira Above, I see again and again that the most meaningful connections often arrive quietly. A memory surfaces. A familiar personality appears. A feeling of love fills the room.
The conversation between worlds is often more subtle than we imagine.
And when we learn the deep practice of listening, we anchor in the realization that the connection is always there.
